Yesterday APlus.Net announced the acquisition of web-design firm WebImage. I strongly believe that the remaining 40% of small businesses which have yet to establish an Internet presence (domain-owned website) will rely on a do-it-for-me (DIFM) solution provider. WebImage is an outstanding little company that has differentated itself from other larger players in the DIFM design space by focusing on high quality designs with efficient processes (it takes an average of 1.5 hours from start to finish to complete a design).

Look for the WebImage product to be quickly integrated into the product portfolio of Aplus.Net.

Aplus.Net Named Top 10 Hosting Firm by HostReview

On January 19 Aplus.Net was named the #3 overall web hosting firm for 2006 by HostReview.com. On July 25, 2006, Catalyst Investors and my investment entity, Aberration! Ventures, LLC, co-invested in the acquisition of Aplus.Net for an unspecified amount on July 25, 2006.

APlus.Net to Relocate Corporate Headquarters to KC

As reported by the Kansas City Business Journal, APlus.Net has announced that it will relocate it's corporate headquarters to Overland Park, Kansas.

I am personally looking forward to re-engaging various employees from our days at CommuniTech.Net to aid in the future growth of Aplus.Net. Additionally, I believe the Midwest offers a more reasonable cost of doing business and cost of living for the company and its employees.

Aberration & Catalyst Acquire APlus.Net

On July 25, 2006, my investment entity, Aberration! Ventures, LLC and Catalyst Investors of New York acquired 90% of the outstanding shares of Abacus America, Inc., which does business under the name APlus.Net.

Today APlus.Net announced it has been named one of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in San Diego by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of the nation’s foremost professional services organizations.The ranking, officially called the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award, is given to companies headquartered in North America that have experienced significant fiscal year revenue growth in the last five years (in this case, from 2001 to 2005). To be eligible, companies must also own proprietary technology that constitutes a significant portion of operating revenues.
